MVD FILM
About
At our festival, we have a dynamic and committed team that pursues excellence. We strive to make a significant difference in our environment, working hard to leave a meaningful mark on the world around us. We seek unique, risk-taking and innovative films that address current issues and challenge the way we think and feel about the world around us.
A competition for filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world.
The MVD Film Festival is an online competition in Montevideo, Uruguay, aimed at filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world who want to take their films to the next level.
All films will be evaluated by an outstanding group of jurors, who according to their judgement, will select the winners after a meticulously analysis of each work. In addition, we at the Film Festival MVD are commited to present and promote each of the selected films in order to help film makers to take this important step in their carrer.
At the MVD Film Festival we are committed to present a selection of films that will take you through a unique experience, which will make you reflect on the most relevant issues of our society.
Don't miss the opportunity to participate in our festival! All winners will receive a free certificate (PDF/JPG file, ready to print), the corresponding laurels and in December we will present three awards to the best annual productions that have participated in the festival.
We are waiting for you!
Our
What are we looking for?
At the MVD Film Festival we are looking for story-driven films, whether narrative (fiction), documentary (non-fiction) or animation, that address current issues and challenge the way we think and feel about the world around us.
• To submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
• Films under 40 minutes are considered short films. Films 40 minutes or longer are considered feature films.
• We only accept submissions through FilmFreeway's secure online evaluation system.
• You agree that parts of your film (including the trailer, teaser, poster, and any stills or frames obtained from the submitted material) may be used for promotional purposes for the festival.
• Under no circumstances are submission fees refundable.
• Each filmmaker may submit multiple productions, and each film may be entered in multiple categories.
• Films will not be available online.
• The Festival's relationship with the filmmaker will be exclusively limited to the filmmaker.
• Any foreign film not in Spanish or Portuguese must have Spanish or Portuguese subtitles; otherwise, it will be automatically disqualified.

• The MVD Film Festival may disqualify any film if it deems the content inappropriate. If you have any questions regarding this decision, you can contact us at our email address: hola@festivaldecinemvd.com.
• To participate in the official competition(s), it is necessary to pay the corresponding entry fee through FilmFreeway. Please access that platform to make the payment.

• Promotional materials (posters, trailers, images, and other graphic or audiovisual elements) must be submitted in Spanish or Portuguese, or include subtitles in one of these two languages. If these materials were originally in a language other than Spanish or Portuguese, the Festival may request an adapted version for use in promotional and institutional communication activities.
• During the evaluation, selection, programming, and promotion process, the Festival may request additional materials, such as director biography, idea, concept, theme, storyline, synopsis, dramatic question, posters in specific formats, password-protected private viewing links, promotional files, or other technical elements, when necessary to facilitate the work of the international jury or for the institutional promotion of the winning works and the Festival.
